The Audi quattro brand is registered, and at the same time Audi Design commissions a graphics office on the outskirts of Ingolstadt to develop the „quattro“ lettering.

Presentation of the first quattro collection, a travel and boutique selection by Michael Pfeiffer Design Munich. MP Design is also commissioned to take over the distribution and promotion of this collection.

Audi Design turns to product design beyond cars. Watches are a popular field of activity; with the first Quattro watch by Certina, an exclusive chronograph is offered and distributed via quattro GmbH.

Presentation and expansion of the collection with the “Lady quattro“: among other things, eight different handbags, a purse and a perfume are offered.
1988
quattro GmbH is responsible for the marketing and merchandising activities of the external divisions such as Audi Sport, Audi Design in some cases, as well as trade fairs and events.

A new trade marketing strategy relies on individual Audi showrooms or exclusive Audi centres. Pick-up centres are being set up in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm where customers can take delivery of their vehicle at the factory. The quattro GmbH offer will become an integral part of the trade marketing activities.
1989
The quattro collection is used to support the company‘s sponsoring activities. In particular, sports sponsoring such as golf (quattro Cup) and skiing have an impact on the range of accessories. It is supplemented by golf bags but also high-tech bikes.
1990
With its entry into the DTM, Audi Sport is returning to its home market: The merchandising activities surrounding the popular DTM are being intensively expanded by quattro GmbH: Audi Sport watches, clothing and supplemented by giveaways.
1992
A new collection by Gerhard Kiska replaces the well-known leather accessories. The boutiques in the delivery centres are set up and selectively supplemented and combined with further merchandising articles such as books, films and traditional articles. quattro GmbH now uses classic advertising to promote its product range.

Consistent involvement of quattro GmbH in merchandising activities for product launches by marketing vis-à-vis the trade.
1995
Registration of the new business segment „Development, manufacture, modification and distribution of vehicles of all kinds including their components and their accessories.“ in the commercial register. This clears the way for the business areas „vehicle customisation“ and „vehicle production“.
1996
With the Audi S6 plus, quattro GmbH presents its first own vehicle model.
1999
On 4 January, quattro GmbH moves its official headquarters from Ingolstadt to Neckarsulm.

The RS 4 is the first independent RS model designed and developed by Audi subsidiary quattro GmbH and is based on the Audi S4.
2005
With the opening of the Audi Forum Neckarsulm, the Audi exclusive Studio there is also put into operation for customer consultation.
2013
is the year of quattro GmbH. quattro GmbH celebrates its 30th anniversary and lit a firework of new models. With the RS 5 Cabriolet, RS 6 Avant, RS 7 Sportback and RS Q3, the largest RS range of all time.
2014
Completion of the new location at Böllinger Höfe, Neckarsulm. A new production hall will be home to body construction, logistics and assembly for the Audi R8 from mid-2014.
